Classic Fountain Pen

A traditional filakto made by Greek Orthodox nuns. Size of filakto is 1" x 1". Size of book is approximately 1 1/2" tall. Left side of book displays a filakto. The right side displays an icon of the Virgin Mary and Child. Book folds for easy storage. Ideal for those who travel and those who like to keep a filakto and icon on their person. Filakto is a Greek word referring to something that keeps you safe by chasing away the evil. It is a small religious cloth pouch pinned to a the clothes of a baby on the upper left shoulderblade. Sometimes the mother also pins a cross and/or the "mati" to the baby alongside the filakto.
